Classic French favourites are rare in Toronto at this calibre, and nowhere else will you find steak frites or tarte tatin this dialled-in with Yorkville’s urban theatre right outside your window. The vibe is equal parts celebration and people-watching playground.
The city has its share of French-inspired bistros, but La Société is one of the only places that feels like both a see-and-be-seen destination and a reliably excellent kitchen. The grand two-storey dining room, with its stained glass ceiling, sets an unmistakable mood—from power lunches to late dinners. Plus, that patio is easily the most fun, beautiful place for a glass of Sancerre on Bloor.

The kitchen turns out sharply executed French staples—think steak tartare, moules frites, and textbook crème brûlée—without shortcutting tradition. Outside, the covered terrace gives a front-row seat to some of the city’s best-dressed passersby on Bloor, adding an energy that’s hard to match.
