Toronto will mark National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with a free public gathering at the base of the CN Tower on September 30. Light Toronto Orange brings community members together for an evening of reflection, remembrance, music and Indigenous cultural programming presented with the Orange Shirt Society. Confirmed programming includes remarks from Elders and Indigenous community members, Jordan Hart performing 215 and Counting, traditional drumming and jingle-dress dancing. Toronto landmarks including the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, Scotiabank Arena, The Bentway, Canada Malting Silos and Public Pier will illuminate orange during the evening. Everyone is welcome. Registration is requested to help organizers estimate attendance, but it is not described as a ticket or mandatory admission requirement. The gathering runs rain or shine.
