Peak fall colour in the Toronto area typically occurs in the second and third weeks of October, though it varies by year depending on temperature and rainfall. The Scarborough Bluffs and High Park are good bellwethers — when they turn, most of the GTA is at peak. For more dramatic colours, the Niagara Escarpment (Bruce Trail) and Muskoka (3 hours north) peak slightly earlier in late September to early October.
