Former TTC streetcar maintenance barns built in 1913, converted into a community arts hub and farmer's market. On Saturday mornings from May to November, it hosts the best neighbourhood market in the city — artisan food, local produce, live music, and an atmosphere that's quintessentially Toronto without trying to be.

Get there by 9am for the best vendor selection. The cheese and charcuterie stands near the back are outstanding, and the bread vendors usually sell out by 11am. The building itself is stunning — exposed brick, soaring wood-beam ceilings, original industrial fittings from the streetcar era. Even without the market, it's worth visiting for the architecture alone.
Getting there
Subway to Christie (Line 2), then 10-minute walk north on Christie St. The barns are on the west side of Christie between St. Clair and Davenport.
