Why Visit
Square One offers everything from UNIQLO and Simons to a massive Food District and a sprawling parking lot that's somehow always packed. It's the best place west of the city where you can spend an entire day trying on clothes, snacking, then furnishing your condo.
What Makes It Unique
Unlike Toronto's Eaton Centre, Square One's modern expansions have brought in unique shops like Holt Renfrew, The Rec Room arcade, and a legit Korean food hall. The vibe is pure Mississauga—the crowd's younger, more diverse, and keener on next-door events at Celebration Square and the nearby Absolute World towers.
Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga is Ontario's second-largest mall and the defining commercial hub of a city that has grown dramatically over the past four decades. With over 360 stores arranged across a recently expanded complex, Square One draws shoppers from across the western GTA with a retail mix that spans fast fashion through luxury — all under one roof and anchored by an excellent food court that reflects Mississauga's remarkable cultural diversity.
The mall is genuinely easy to spend a full day in. Fashion is thoroughly covered, with Zara, H&M, Aritzia, and dozens of mid-range brands alongside premium-end options including Tiffany & Co., Coach, and a strong selection of footwear boutiques. The Apple Store here is consistently busy, the Canadian tech retail scene well represented, and the book and lifestyle stores rounded out by home goods and kitchen shops.
Food is Square One's particular strength. The food court stretches across a large atrium and features a concentration of authentic international options that matches or exceeds many downtown food halls — South Asian snack counters, Jamaican patty spots, Vietnamese pho, shawarma, and the usual fast-food anchors. Table-service restaurants along the exterior corridors include several chains doing solid mid-range meals.
The area around Square One has been developing into a genuine downtown for Mississauga. City Hall is directly adjacent, Celebration Square hosts outdoor events and ice skating in winter, and the transit hub connects GO Train service and MiWay buses. Square One itself served as the terminus for the Hurontario LRT under construction, which will eventually link it to Brampton and the Port Credit GO station, making it even more accessible. Parking is enormous and free, though weekend afternoons at peak shopping season can see the main lots fill significantly.
