DJ Skate Nights pairs outdoor waterfront skating with live DJ performances at Harbourfront Centre’s Jumpstart Community Rink. The 2026–2027 lineup offers a different named musical theme each evening, from house, disco and R&B to Latin beats, Afrohouse and soca.
The series runs on 10 listed dates from December 19, 2026, to February 13, 2027. Every published DJ session is 8–10 p.m., local Toronto time. There are nine Saturdays and one special Thursday: New Year’s Eve, December 31.
Rink admission is free. Rentals, equipment availability, maintenance and weather conditions are separate from the music schedule. This is not a daily series, an all-winter continuous event or a promise of two uninterrupted hours on the ice.
The January and February dates are in 2027, not 2026. The Thursday New Year’s Eve session is included deliberately; it must not be dropped by a Saturday-only calendar filter. Music themes and performers may change, so recheck the official series page before travelling.
December 19 opens with House, Disco and R&B and Young Teesh; December 26 is Soul Kitchen: RNB on Ice with DJ Skitz. January includes Classics on Ice, Stereo Ferment on Ice, Latin Beats on Ice, Sonic Sancocho on Ice and Around the Globe, each with the named DJ or DJs listed above.
February 6 is explicitly Afrohouse on Ice, followed by Soca on Ice on February 13. The organizer’s broader series introduction also mentions Afrobeats, but that should not replace the published Afrohouse title for February 6. A theme is useful for choosing a night; it is not a confirmed song-by-song setlist or a promise of a guest appearance.
Harbourfront Centre’s rink page states that rink admission is always free. Bring your own suitable skates or arrange equipment separately. The series page advertises complimentary Saturday skate rentals, and the rink page qualifies the offer as while quantities last.
Regular skate rental prices are $10 for children and $15 for adults. All rentals are for two hours. Saturday skate shop hours are 10 a.m.–10 p.m.; the DJ programme’s 10 p.m. finish is not a guarantee of late checkout, a fresh two-hour rental at closing or a particular return deadline.
The Saturday promotion applies to skates, not an announced free helmet or skating-aid package. The rink page lists helmet rentals at $10 and skating aids at $15. Sizes, immediate availability, reservations and stock are not guaranteed. Ask the shop about the last rental, fitting and return arrangements before planning your evening around borrowed equipment.
The published New Year’s Eve DJ session is Thursday, December 31, 2026, 8–10 p.m., with DJ JJ Rock. It is not a Saturday and it does not run until midnight on the announced schedule.
Do not assume complimentary Saturday skate rentals apply on December 31. The reviewed series and rink pages do not confirm a special Thursday rental promotion. A current individual New Year’s Eve event page establishing special rental terms could not be verified; check the organizer’s individual listing if it is published, or contact Harbourfront Centre before relying on a special offer.
The rink’s regular Thursday shop hours are 4–10 p.m., but holiday-specific arrangements need confirmation. Budget for regular rental prices unless a current official New Year’s Eve announcement says otherwise. No midnight countdown, fireworks, extended skating hours or extra guest lineup is announced in the reviewed DJ schedule.
The general rink timetable lists Saturday maintenance from 9–9:20 p.m., inside the 8–10 p.m. DJ window. It also lists a 7:30–7:50 p.m. pre-session maintenance break. All scheduled maintenance is subject to change.
The series page does not announce an exemption or revised maintenance timetable for DJ Skate Nights. Treat 8–10 p.m. as the scheduled DJ session, not a guarantee that public skating is uninterrupted throughout. Follow the venue’s current ice status and staff instructions. Do not automatically apply Saturday’s 9 p.m. maintenance entry to the Thursday New Year’s Eve session.
Go to the Jumpstart Community Rink, Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay West, Toronto. Use the official rink page’s venue map and directions to locate the rink; the street address alone does not specify an equipment queue or audience entrance.
This is an outdoor waterfront winter outing, not an indoor nightclub. Dress for the forecast, wear suitable skating equipment and follow rink rules. Harbourfront Centre strongly recommends CSA-approved helmets, although its rink page says they are not mandatory.
Weather and ice conditions can affect skating. A published DJ date is not proof that the ice is open now. The reviewed pages do not publish detailed session-specific cancellation thresholds, accessible ice-entry arrangements, adaptive-equipment availability or a guaranteed indoor replacement; contact the venue if these affect your visit.
Use our Skate by the Lake guide for the rink’s separate operating hours, equipment prices, maintenance and access caveats. The DJ series ending on February 13 should not be confused with the rink’s own season dates.
Explore the Winter Activities page for other cold-weather options, then compare the dates for each one. HarbourFrost’s December attractions do not automatically continue through the January and February DJ sessions. On December 19, the Alpine Merry Sheep Choir, Hala Circus Arts and Illuminair’s fire shows have separate programming windows and showtimes; sharing a waterfront campus does not make them one continuous programme.
Participation: Choose a specific date and DJ, check ice status, and allow time for equipment fitting. Do not assume free Thursday rentals on New Year’s Eve or uninterrupted skating during the 8–10 p.m. DJ window.

Check Harbourfront Centre’s official DJ Skate Nights lineup — Official DJ series and rink pages checked November 5, 2026. The series confirms all ten dates, 8–10 p.m. sessions, themes and named DJs. The rink page confirms free entry, limited-stock Saturday skate rentals, regular prices, two-hour rentals, shop hours and maintenance. A current individual December 31 page with special Thursday rental terms could not be verified; no free NYE equipment promise is made.
